Civic Clarity, Inc. is a Kansas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on government transparency and civic education. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information through our website, programs, email communications, donations, and text-to-web civic survey activities.
Information We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, donation details, survey responses, and messages you send to us. If you opt in to text messages, we collect your mobile phone number, consent status, message interactions, and related records needed to provide the service.
For nonpartisan civic surveys, we may use civic or voter-file contact data, including commercially available voter-file data, to select survey recipients, send survey invitations, and understand aggregate survey participation. This data may include name, address, phone number, voting jurisdiction, and similar civic or geographic information.
We may also collect limited technical information from website visits, such as browser type, pages visited, referring pages, and similar analytics or security information.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate our nonprofit programs, publish civic education materials, respond to inquiries, process donations, administer civic surveys, send text-to-web survey invitations, maintain records, protect our systems, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
If you opt in to text messages, we use your mobile phone number to send nonpartisan civic survey invitations and related follow-up messages from Civic Clarity. If you receive a civic survey invitation from us based on voter-file or civic contact data, you may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Mobile Information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties except service providers that help us deliver messages, maintain consent records, or comply with law.
We do not sell mobile phone numbers, SMS consent records, or survey responses. We do not use mobile information collected through text messaging for third-party marketing or promotional purposes.
Service Providers
We may share information with vendors that perform services for us, such as website hosting, email delivery, donation processing, analytics, text messaging, polling, survey administration, and data storage. These providers are permitted to use information only to provide services to Civic Clarity or as required by law.
